Meet the Team

2024 Development and Instructional Team

Sarah Asrani

Hi! I'm Sarah and I am one of the MacPRIME Developers for 2024. Currently, I'm a 2nd year Math and Computer Science student at Mac, and I plan to go into math education. My favourite thing about first-year classes was learning about the different areas of math, like linear algebra and computing. In my spare time, I love to play the guitar, sing, read and cook. Ask me about McMaster intramurals, life in Hamilton, residence or any other questions you have! I am so excited to meet you all and help guide you through all things first year!

Alia Sabahat Chaudhary

My name is Alia Chaudhary, and I am a 3rd year iBio student part of the HESE stream. I am an artist, a student, a sister and a daughter. I love spending time with my family and friends and am super passionate about a lot of things. My comfort show ... is Avatar the Last Airbender, and I am so ready for the new live action remake (even though the live action movie is still traumatizing). I have always been good at math, but only recently did I truly fall in love with it. I am super passionate about teaching math and making it fun for others too! I truly believe that having a positive mindset and an optimistic outlook makes life a million times better and easier to live. Looking forward to working on this team, and spreading some of that positivity to you all as well :).

Cynthia Corradi

Hi! My name is Cynthia Corradi (she/her) and I am one of the MacPRIME Developers for 2024. I am in my 2nd year of Mathematics and Statistics with a specialization in Statistics. Outside of MacPRIME, I am a member of the Math and Stats Society and enjoy playing intramural sports with my friends. My favourite math course was STATS 2D03 and my favourite non math course was SCAR 1B03. When I’m not studying, I like to spend my free time reading, going to the gym, thrifting, playing volleyball, hiking and drinking oat lattes at aesthetic cafes. I’d love to hear what your favourite book or hiking trail is. I am very excited about the opportunity to work on MacPRIME and I look forward to meeting you all this summer!

2023 Development and Instructional Team

Shuoyang Wang

Hi! My name is Shuoyang Wang, and I am a student partner in the 2023 MacPRIME development team. I am passionate about the mathematical/theoretical perspective of physics & chemistry. Besides studying, I love long walks and bubble tea. :)

Yasmin Yaacoub

Hi! My name is Yasmin Yaacoub and I am one of the MacPRIME Developers and Instructors for 2023. This fall, I will be entering my third year of Mathematics and Statistics Co-op, with a specialization in statistics. In addition to working on MacPRIME, I am a Welcome Week coordinator for the Faculty of Science and an executive member of McMaster’s Students Cooking on a Budget (MSCB) club. I enjoy spending my free time baking, reading, going to the gym, playing soccer, and curating Spotify playlists for oddly specific moods. I cannot wait to meet you during MacPRIME this summer!

Fay Zheng

Hi everyone! My name is Fay Zheng, and I am in my 4th year of the Biology and Pharmacology Co-op program pursuing a minor in Mathematics. Some of my favourite math courses include MATH 1A03, STAT 2B03, MATH 3FM3, and MATH 3MB3. In my spare time, I love making arts and crafts, cooking, and baking. I am looking forward to exploring some math with you and helping you navigate through university life this summer :)

2022 Development and Instructional Team

Jessie Meanwell

I'm Jessie (she/her) and I'm a 4th year Math and stats student at Mac. I've always enjoyed teaching (particularly math and physics) and recently have been interested in finding more active and playful ways to learn. I'm in Montreal for the summer doing research remotely (MTL is great, you should definitely visit if you get the chance). I spend my days thrifting, reading in parks, dancing at festivals, making music and mathy art. Some things you can talk to me about: making art/animations with Desmos, music production (I use Logic but debating whether I should get Ableton), where to go for fun in Hamilton, or anything you're up to!

Andrew Rushton

My name is Andrew (He/Him) and I recently graduated from McMaster's Mathematics and Statistics Co-op program. Over the course of my degree, I worked for 12 months as a Data Scientist with Canadian Tire's Sports Analytics team and 4 months as an Analyst with the Air Miles Digital Analytics team. I also had the opportunity to work as a tutor with the McMaster Science Society and a teaching assistant with Dr. Junkins. Looking back on my time at McMaster, I encourage students to put themselves out there, meet new people, and challenge themselves!

Hareshan Suntharalingam

Hello everyone, my name is Hareshan (He/Him) and I just completed the iBioMed program (HESE specialization) at McMaster University. I have primarily taken courses in biomedical engineering (e.g. signals & systems, biomechanics, synthetic biology) and the health sciences such as anatomy and cell biology. During my spare time, I love watching stranger things, Shark Tank & medical dramas like Grey's Anatomy, biking, playing soccer, and listening to music. I had the privilege of being one of the instructors for the MacPrime program last summer and it was an amazing experience for myself and for the students. I will be starting my master's in Health Research Methodology this fall at McMaster.
